For as long as I've been a designer, I've been obsessed with using technology to create new workflows that extend my creative abilities.

Four or five years ago I was doing a lot of work with optimization using Genetic Algorithms, and I found the existing tools out there to be really lacking. They were either overly simplified or way too technical and got in the way of my design workflows. I started building Discover to address some of these issues and support the kind of workflows I wanted to use in my own design work. A few years later, and after several semesters of testing with my Generative Design students at Columbia University, Discover is now available for public use.

I started Colidescope to develop Discover and other computational design tools. I started this learning channel to raise money so that I can develop these tools without charging for them (and keeping them open-source). The subscription fees generated from this site go toward further development of Discover and new tools we are cooking up soon.

Thanks very much for your support, and keep optimizing! ๐Ÿ“ˆ๐Ÿ’•
